Fort Wayne Philharmonic to perform free patriotic concert at Pokagon State Park

Angola, Ind.-The Fort Wayne Philharmonic will present a free patriotic pops concert Wednesday, June 28, beginning at 7 p.m. at Pokagon State Park.

The 70-piece orchestra, under the direction of Edvard Tchivzhel, will perform patriotic songs, show tunes and family favorites such as Armed Forces Salute, Girl Crazy, Victory at Sea, Mardi Gras and the 1812 Overture.

The concert takes place on the front lawn of the Potawatomi Inn, inside Pokagon State Park. The entrance fee into the park is $4 per Indiana car and $7 per out-of-state car. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Monetary donations will be accepted during the event to help underwrite the orchestra expenses. The inclement weather site is Angola High School on U.S. Highway 20 East.

Performing in its 61st season, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic is a member of the American Symphony Orchestra League and is a fully-funded member of Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne, the Indiana Arts Commission and National Endowment for the Arts.
