Satek Winery hosts summer artist series

Fremont, Ind.-Northeast Indiana’s only winery will host a summer artists series beginning Saturday, June 16. Subsequent dates include July 14, 21 and 28 and Aug. 11, 18 and 25.

Local area painters and jewelers will display their wares and demonstrate their crafts at Satek Winery, 6208 N. VanGuilder Rd., Fremont. The special events will be held during the winery’s regular business hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“One of Larry and my first visions concerning the winery was lending support to the arts, and we are thrilled to make it a reality,” said co-owner Pam Satek.

Joe Driver, a Fremont jeweler who creates pieces from recycled winery bottles, will be on hand June 16 and Aug. 25. Other scheduled artists include: painter and potter Shirley Brauker on July 14; painter Tarma VanAken on July 21 and jewelry specialist Alicia Moeller on July 28 and Aug. 18. On Aug. 11, photographer Mark Boswell will be featured.
